The Boston Globe has a nice <a href="http://boston.com/dailyglobe2/284/science/Defusing_fear_of_Big_Bang_machine+.shtml">story</a> that debunks some of the crazy speculation that a new physics particle accelerator could destroy the earth. Good read. In essence, anything that man can think of, nature has (and is) doing out there somewhere in the cosmos.
