This BBC News Online story explains how astronomers may have captured light reflected off the surface of a very hot planet orbiting Tau Bootes. If confirmed, this would be an astronomical first since previous studies (announced last week) have only detected the passing of a planet which dimmed the light from the star. Actual images of the planet will require the next generation of telescopes.
